Ole Nissen was born Cedar County, Nebraska, near the town of Laurel, to Peter Nissen and his wife Hansene Tidemann. He served in World War I, then came to Clinton county, Iowa, and farmed west of Low Moor. He was married to Helen Anderson in 1923. In 1944 he moved to Clinton and worked for the Clinton Corn Processing Company. He died in Clinton in 1971 and is buried at Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery. He had no children.
